Michael Patterson is Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Legal Officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. He has been in this role since 2019. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. Michael began his career at Blue Cross in 1986 as an Accountant.  He has also served as Manager of Subrogation, Account Manager of Customer Service, Associate Counsel, Senior Managing Attorney, and as Director of Legal Services. 

Michael was appointed and served as Revenue Commissioner for the State of Alabama from March 2000 until August 2001. He also serves on the board of directors of Camp Fire Alabama, the Lakeshore Foundation, Leadership Alabama and Legacy Credit Union.

Michael is a graduate of University of Alabama at Birmingham where he majored in Accounting.  He also received his Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law in 1993 and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar during that same year.
