Tim Vines serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama – the largest provider of healthcare benefits in Alabama – serving nearly 3 million members of which 2 million reside within the state.

Mr. Vines started his career with Blue Cross in 1994. Since then, he has held roles of increasing responsibility, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer, and has served in his current position of President and CEO since April 2018.

Mr. Vines is currently active in key leadership roles, serving on the Board of Directors of Regions Financial Corporation, on the Board of Trustees for Auburn University, and as an Honorary Trustee for Samford University. He also serves on the boards of the Birmingham Business Alliance, Leadership Birmingham, Business Council of Alabama, Economic Development Partnership of Alabama and Prosper, and is a member of the Alabama Academy of Honor. Mr. Vines served as Chairman of the Board for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, 2021-2023.
