KIMBERLY, AL – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, the City of Kimberly, and National Fitness Campaign (NFC) are partnering to bring an outdoor Fitness Court^® and digital wellness programming to Kimberly Municipal Park. The Fitness Court will open on Thursday, February 6 at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony located at 533 Park Avenue.

This Fitness Court was developed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, the City of Kimberly and NFC to expand free access to high quality workouts and create equitable access to exercise for communities around the state.

As the new year is underway, this launch is the perfect opportunity for Kimberly residents to start their health and wellness goals and commit to a healthy 2025! The Fitness Court® provides a versatile and motivating environment for everyone. Designed to be a hub for wellness, it’s also an ideal space to pursue fitness goals alongside friends and connect with others in the community, fostering both health and community camaraderie.

The Fitness Court is the world’s best outdoor gym that lets people use their own body weight to get a complete workout using seven exercise stations. By making health and wellness accessible and engaging, the Fitness Court supports individuals and groups to build sustainable fitness habits that last throughout the year.

Created with people aged 14 and over and with all abilities in mind, the workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace. Users also may download the free Fitness Court App which acts as a coach-in-your-pocket and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience.

Kimberly is one of 20 outdoor Fitness Courts in a series of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama Fitness Courts in easily accessible public spaces throughout the state.
