Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Proud to Sponsor The 2025 World Police & Fire Games

Birmingham, AL - Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama is proud to sponsor the 2025 World Police & Fire Games, an Olympic-style competition for first responders from across the globe. From June 27 to July 6, the Games will bring thousands of law enforcement personnel, firefighters and other emergency service professionals together to compete in over 60 sporting matches across Birmingham and the surrounding area.

“We look forward to welcoming first responders from across Alabama and the world as we celebrate their service and dedication that we all depend on so much," said Tim King, Manager of Community Relations and The Caring Foundation. “We care about our local communities and especially the men and women who give so much to keep us safe and secure."

During the Games, over 500 participants are expected to represent agencies based in Alabama. With many competitions oriented around fitness, combat, team and other sport designations, the Games serve as an opportunity for participants to maintain their strength through exercise, aligning closely with Blue Cross’ commitment to improving the well-being of Alabamians through a healthy lifestyle.

“The World Police & Fire Games are all about celebrating the strength and dedication of first responders worldwide. Throughout the 11-day event, there are many free activities and competitions for spectators to attend, including:

• The Parade of Athletes and Opening Ceremony, which celebrates the countries represented and athletes competing in the Games;
• Blue Cross’ sponsored sports, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 basketball; and
• Many more sports, such as baseball, flag football and ice hockey.
